As stated on the Iowa Onsite Waste Water Association webpage; the primary purpose of the CIOWTS credential is to create a baseline of knowledge and set a standard of practice for onsite wastewater system installations. 

 

JASW Contracting received the CIOWTS credential in 2025. Continuing education in the onsite wastewater industry must be earned to renew the CIOWTS credential. For more information on the CIOWTS credential please visit the IOWWA webpage, the link for which can be found at the bottom of this page. 

 

The following Iowa counties currently requiring the Basic Level CIOWTS credential:

Benton, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Cedar, Chickasaw, Clayton, Dallas, Delaware, Floyd, Grundy, Hamilton, Hardin, Iowa, Jasper, Jones, Linn, Marion, Scott, Story, Tama, Warren, Washington, and Winneshiek.
